Those of you who know me, do realise that I am "The Queen of Tat" when it comes to gardening....what with all my fairies, naff ornaments and bits of this 'n that dotted all over the place ;D But, I do like a bit of "tasteful planting" and try very hard to conform to a tasteful colour scheme in my garden (LOL...my tongue is firmly stuck in my cheek here... )....apart from my "Royal Wedding" corner, which I admit is slightly over the top ;D BUT, I digress....I can do cool, restrained, complimentary planting when I want to....have a look at Tulip "Black Hero" for example.... It's looking good with Tulip "Purissima" in the background... Now, I am well used to people stopping and chatting to me at the gate...old ladies with perms, dog walkers and Mums with prams often stop to have a look at the garden, and a chat ;D What I'm not used to, is seeing a look of horror on their faces!!!! What can be causing this "SHOCK! HORROR!! ?" Coming soon....some of the most bizarre, bad taste plants you've ever seen!! If you are easily offended...I suggest you don't look If you are brave enough, wear your shades! It's a good job this forum isn't viewed in HD...or even worse, 3D....

I agree - I haven't come across that one before, although I've grown 'Purissima'. Next instalment, please!

Some would say that if you look out from an aeroplane you can see more, this of cause isn't true unless you switch off the engine and use a telescope (not advisable) The beauty of gardens, whatever it's size is that the beauty is the same in them all, from your Black Tulip to a wild 'Periwinkle. As for people stopping at the gate, your garden is also 'interesting' MG and I'm looking forwards to another look

Anyway, it's your garden, MG, and you can arrange it to please yourself - who cares what other people think if you're happy in it?

LOL....thankyou all for your most kind comments Unfortunately I seem to have lost the images on here this evening? Even all your avatars have gone AWOL! But I'll have a bash posting the images of the "bad taste plants" later on. Actually, they are so awful that they are "growing on me" a teeny bit...my sister loves them...but then she has no taste whatsoever (heehee... I quite agree with your lovely comments, that it's perfectly OK to grow whatever you like, where you like, as long as you are happy with them...that's been my mantra throughout my gardening years. In this case however, I'm not at all happy with the monsters I have grown! And guess what....? I didn't just plant one pot full, or even two...Oh No....I had to go and plant FOUR pots of the b***dy things

Be careful what you wish for Geranium.... They are "Gross" as we say up 'ere .... Even the slugs and snails won't eat them, and the aphids are staying well clear...

As Kenny Everett used to say, "All in the best possible taste" Well at least your Sister has good taste when it comes to Sisters. Maybe you're referring to your 'edible' plants I too am intrigued, what could you put in four pots that is so tasteless. Don't keep us in sussies too long.
