At last Mrs Popple has appeared, I was getting really worried. Among the many casualties is now see that my Clerderondron is a gonner along with my Mahonia (I think) I had taken a cutting/runner for someone (forget who) but that's gone too.

Yes, mine has some small shoots Merlin, and so has the Fuchsia thymifolia. (new last autumn) Sorry to hear that you have more casualties, though.

She's quite old now and quite a large plant. last year I moved her to hide a load of spring bulbs that look untidy after flowering. Thought I'd dun 'er in! After the last two winters I'm reluctant to replace many of my plants, I'll wait to see if the last two winters were a flook, meanwhile I've sown a few annuals.

I have been replacing casualties, all except the largest hebe, as it would be a huge job to dig out all the plants underneath it, let alone getting the roots out. I'm waiting until after the open days and then it'll have to go. It's not looking much better, and if it flowers it'll be a miracle! I've been checking for hardiness in all the replacements, though! My 'Mrs Popple' was here when we came. I think her strength is fading.

They flower long into autumn..... even winter.
