Hi all, wanting to do my bit for the environment, I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts about / experience of the SmartSoil home composters ?

Hello Mike, Just googled it and it looks very good. As for whether you should get one, well it depends on things like your age, a strong back, space and how much you'll have to compost. Personally I doubt it makes much difference so long as you put the right amount of stuff in it and turn regular. A revolving one would get results quicker as you would turn it more, but.....you would have to stop filling it when full otherwise you would have different stages of composition.

Thanks for the reply Merlin, you have listed all the reasons for my enquiry. Age--old (I don't think so but everyone else does !) Back--damaged Space--very little Quantity--not a lot. You must have special powers ! Mike

Well then, now that narrows it down a bit Mike I suppose it's now just a case of working out how much multipurpose compost you could buy with the cost of the 'Smart soil composter' You#re on your own on that one ! I have to say though, home brew is far better and you can pee on it like Bob Flowerdew, though I doubt you could reach with the machine ;D
