A quick stroll around my parents garden.... Patio area at back of house. Looking across to the pond. From the pond to the pergola (with mums backside....she'll kill me if she knew!) From the pergola looking up to the Metasequoia and chairs. Looking back towards the house. Looking first right.... .....then walking over to the left. .....and through to the seating area Incidentally, my dad has built all the walls in the garden. Relatives joke that they can see them from space! Looking back to the opening and on to dads new brick walled observatory (to house his huge telescope). Veg area near observatory to be Observatory to be with half of the metal track the dome will rotate on behind. Temporary home for plants at the minute! Back down and through the other opening. The arch will be replaced soon as its falling down. Looking back Looking from this seating area back along the house wall Through the arch Along the house wall (with fig in fruit) Quick look back to the dilapidated seating area The Picea abies 'Nidiformis' I gave my parents when I changed jobs 25 years ago!!! Doesn't time fly

That is perfect. What I like (well everything really) is that your parents are not afraid of straight lines, so they have a satisfying mix of curves and straight lines.

A lot of love and hard work has been put into their garden. I love your Dads walls and his observatory is going to be amazing.

Until now I thought my garden was nice, I'll have to reappraise it now Just goes to show what dedication and hard work can achieve. You've good reason to be proud of them Steve. There are so many questions as there's so much to learn from it but just for one; What is that gorgeous tree?
