I'm always reminded of a Woman who's hubby calls her Daphna, proper posh they were. Anyway I've always fancied a Daphne and when today I saw one 50% off I couldn't resist. Problem is, it said "a very hardy form" on the label. I've googled it and once again I've been mislead. Crazy as it said it's popular for it's perfumed flowers in winter but it's only " Hardy in some areas and need frost protection in winter " I'd better not put it in too big a pot so I can bring it in. ps it's 'bholua Jacqeline postill'.

My RHS book gives it three stars for hardiness, but adds 'borderline', Merlin.

Thet're all so ambiguous aren't they, if we get another one like last winter I recon it will be on the wrong side of the borderline

I do MG, I recon it's cost me almost £200 just to replace what I lost If we get another I'll think about annuals

It wasn't just ooop north this winter, either. I haven't dared to add up the cost of replacing my losses.
