Hello, I'm new on here and was looking for some help on my pumkins. I started them from seed and they were doing really well until the past week or so. They are about 7/8 weeks old now.
The problems I have are
The leaves are starting to droop on the bottom of the plant?
There are yellow patches coming on the leaves?
I don't seem to be able to add photo's?

Are they the seed leaves (Ones at the very bottom of the plant) that are yellowing? If so squash plants loose there seed leaves before maturing. Can you post any pics??
If its not the above have you/are they due to be potted on?? and how often do you water? Squashes are very thirsty plants.

I've just had to re-pot my Pumpkin in to a wheelie bin! its really massive! I hope you are going to widen the the allotment gate this year Steve, after all the expense of hiring a crane to lift it over the fence last year. ;D

Hello and welcome Claire. I sowed my last pumpkin seeds only a week ago and one is just pushing up now. Maybe it is a winter squash to you. If you have to sow again, it is not too late. Also, the local farm shop just drilled their pumpkins for Halloween and their Butternut Squash just a few days ago. However, someone on here will be able to help you to get yours going I'm sure.

Pumpkins are susceptible to the cold and it is a bit early for them to be planted out. Indeed this is the normal time for SOWING the seeds as they do grow at a fast rate, Assuming they are outdoors and have been hardened off sufficiently the most likely reason for the problem is lack of water. At least in my experience. They are not particularly prone to diseases. Having said that I have only ever grown selections of Atlantic Giant so no experience of the smaller ones.

I don't know were the Kidd's are going to grow theres beth set 4 off in pots i can spare the bank and maybe one veg planter and the scrappy space at the side of the veg planters. Don't reckon ours will get that big. Were only growing them for Halloween though . This is the first one we grew (The green one )
