I've just found loads of them on my bay tree, I've squirted them off with the hose, the ones I could see anyway, will they do a lot of damage to the tree? is there something I can use for them that's relatively easy to apply ( it's a huge tree)

If it,s a huge tree as you say I think using a hosepipe is the only answer because you cant get near enough to spray them.

I had these last year on a Choisya and a Holly, they didn't damage the plants but the sticky stuff they secreted covered the leaves in black mold.

yuk, don't want that to happen, I'll just keep hosing them off then, I would hate to lose that bay tree

My acer in the tub now has wooly aphid. gave it a dose of Provado so hope that will clear it up.
