Hello, After success of having my hedge successfully identified, I have another plant in a container that not sure what I should be doing with, picture below Anyone know what plant it is ? Also would it be okay to liven the pot up with a general purpose compost or does it need the special one for lime hating plants ? Many thanks, Lawrence

Hi Lawrence. Probably need a close leaf shot for positive id but on the basis of what I can see (even though the foliage looks shiny), I would say that this is a weeping 'Kilmarnock' willow aka Salix caprea 'Pendula' (also confusingly called Salix caprea 'Kilmarnock').
Some stems can be reduced in length, especially the ones trailing onto the ground and yes, the compost should be livened up with fresh. Liquid feeds are good every few weeks in the summer too as they have quite greedy roots.

Can i trim mine back now then? some stems are lying long on the ground and others are growing out wards from the trailing stems.
