I am considering buying a Eupatorium chocolate, lovely looking plant, does anyone on here grow it? And i wonder if it would be hardy enough for up here. ;D

Yes, Rosie, I do too. It comes up faithfully every year, in a part-shady position and flowers quite late in the season. The leaves stay dark for a while, but gradually go greener. As to whether it's hardy 'ooop north', I can't advise. However, my RHS book gives it three stars, which should mean it's hardy in the UK. Photo taken mid-October last year.

Guess what! I went to the GC this afternoon, and saw one there. It's changed its name to Ageratina rugosa 'Chocolate'. Why can't they leave names alone?

You just get your brain and tongue round one lot of names, then you should learn them all over again, well, not me! 'Alyssum saxatilis' is just that to me, and so is Eupatorium rugosa'Chocolate'. (Stamps foot)
