I was wondering if anyone had contacted the forumites who only visit frequently? I think I remember WF asking about this? I have contacted Jan; she has the flu at the moment and will join us when she can. I have also e-mailed Scotcat.  |

You'll know who they are, Lou. I don't, being relatively new on the 'old' forum. It's not a lot of use sending messages via there if the switch is being thrown in two days' time, is it? You'd need their home e-mails.
I hate to say it - but is it just the mods who have this info? When I looked at the members' list many people hadn't posted for a couple of years or more. Not a lot of point in informing them, is there.

Just checked - the number of 'members' is 1209. Impossible to inform all those. Some had only popped in once, anyway.

I don't think the Mods would have access to private e-mail addresses Geranium; only if they have be in direct contact with them in the past. I must have a look in my address book and see if I have any, if so, I will let them know. It doesn't matter if anyone duplicates them, as long as they find out....

I went through the whole list at the boring forums last night, and emailed everyone who had visited this year or who was a regular contributor last year (yes like someone said you can't email 1000 odd people) well some of them are odd ;D ..so that is how such as Peony, Poly, Sootycat etc got over here
Some know we are here but have said they don't want to join, they probably already view and participate in other forums and didn't want another one taking their time up....I think we have to respect their decision in that

If GN wanted to they could leave a redirection page up that sent you over here when you tried to view the old forum, they could just have a plain page with the message 'The forums have moved please visit......' or they could announce it in the paper for a couple of weeks for us
