I can't imagine trying to do 20 vases, I was getting in a complete mess with just the one ;D I'm so glad I had a practice run, I never knew there were two types of oasis, the type for dries flowers does not work with fresh flowers, I've got the right one now I was worried that there might not be four flowers ready at the same time but I have loads coming on so I'm not too worried about that point. It is a lot more nerve wracking growing to show rather than showing what I have grown. I appreciate the encouragement and support.

I find the nerve wracking time is transporting the blooms to the show. You travel from A to B hoping you do not have to brake sharply, or some of your blooms can have their necks snapped before you get to the show.

I will be cradling my one vase on my lap and the OH has been instructed to turn the car into a hovercraft for the journey ;D
I forgot to say, none of my flowers have dropped a single petal which is a relief. I remember the dahlias in the show last year had all lost some petals.

As long as the petals are on the bloom at judging time that's what counts.

You surely don't need to ask that, Wf! I'm obviously no expert, but if you don't win, there's no justice. We'll all appeal! ;D

Looking at the 6 pics 4&5 may be over the hill tomorrow, At the moment i would say 1,2,3,and 6 when are you cutting them?
I would cut No 4&5 now put them in water and if you can place them in the dark somewhere, it may hold them two back for you.

I was going to cut them tomorrow. I can take my entries up tonight or between 9 and 10 tomorrow. I think tomorrow is safest.
I'll cut 4 & 5 now and put them in the wardrobe.

If you are cutting the others tomorrow, pick the 4 out of 6 that have the centres most alike, you will definitely have a vase out from the 6 that will win it for you, if the judge is any good.
