My boots which were given to me for Christmas 2009 are completely useless. They are comfy with an elasticated gusset, but they leak like mad. It doesn't rain much here, so I only found out this week as the grass was wet and rather long. I am going back to the ugly foot size boots that just slip on and are very cheap to buy. They last for years.

I think you should plant them up ;D I've often thought about doing that with my old wellies, when they finally give up it is like losing and old friend. It would be easy to do with my little leather boots, there are plenty of drainage holes in the bottom ;D Piskie is still about but not on here. She doesn't have her allotment anymore but the allotment project she was working on for the barracks seems to be on the cards still.

Piskie mentioned on Facebook today, that her husband had avoided the redundancies in the air force that individuals were been told about today.

We have finally found a house in a lovely area, we are getting the keys for it tomorrow morning. Compromises just like Cherry said, had to be made, the compromise is the back garden, it is not has big as we would have liked, but it is fairly private. The back garden really needs to be started again from scratch, the previous tenants have not done anything with it, at the moment it is a proper wildlife garden full of brambles and the dreaded bindweed. The garden will have to wait. The previous tenants left the property in a hurry owing 2 months rent, they did not care what state they left it in. But we looked through that and saw the potential of the property. The agent for the landlord has had workmen in this week repairing the damage, they caused while they were there. He offered to redecorate it has well, But Brenda said give us the first month rent free and we will decorate it ourselves. So the big clear out starts this weekend with help from family. then we will start the decorating and we hope to be in by the 25th of this month. So i am going to be busy with that and the shows has well.

That is good news that you have found a house to Brenda's satisfaction(oh.....and yours )....the timing isn't particularly good what with all the shows coming up......(it will keep "the boss" busy while you are worring about the blooms

Well done, Tel. I realise that you have had to compromise, but it's great that you'll be in so quickly.

I think this bodes well for Harrogate. All your good luck is coming together. It did not take long for you to find a house once you really made up your minds that this was it, no matter how the timing works out.
We all want to come to the housewarming party. ;D
