Poor Sarah, bet that hurt It's our flower show today, I couldn't find anything worthwhile to enter. Spent all day yesterday setting up, and will be there this morning following the judges ;D

It's our village flower show today, too. I haven't entered anything either. It tends to focus on fruit and veggies, mostly. No chance of either of those as I don't grow them!

The opening ceremony of the London Olympics was very good and featured British history and added humour. There was so much going on that television could not focus on all the stories going on at once. I liked it. What was Paul McCartney doing there?

I wondered why he was there too ....we stopped up to watch the ceremony too....it was way past our bedtime ...so I'm not long up. It was very well done, if a little long winded.....the pyrotechnics were a wonderful sight to see......and the flame cauldron is an amazing piece of engineering.. ;D

Well, Sara, my daughter ended up in A&E yesterday. She was at work and a horse kicked her in the elbow, luckily it's not broken but the force of the kick split her skin badly. It was too swollen to stitch so she was super glued and sterry stripped. What is Sara's job Rosie? The horse that kicked her, was it a difficult one? I'm very careful around new arrivals at our stables as we used to have a boarder that was notorious for sending you sprawling with a well-placed kick whenever you turned your back on him or stood behind him. Sara is head groom at Hogholm stables just outside Inverurie. Bob is a problem horse but the other staff had just been opening the door and letting him run out, so now when he see's an open door he bolts, which is just what he did and Sara caught the brunt of it. We are off to see her today.

It could have been a lot worse, though - thank goodness it wasn't.

Sara is in quite a bit of pain with her elbow and she can't take the painkillers the hospital gave her so it's just paracetamol. The slightest touch and she cringes. The lady who owns the horse feels just awful and is very apologetic about it.

Poor thing. I feel for her! We went to look at stone for our wall in two quarries today. The second one was a huge, organised place and the stone was twice the price of the first one! I fell in love with a large stone sphere - you couldn't help but touch it. What about that for an amazing garden feature? ;D (Pity it would have been too heavy to take home. )

It wasn't my car, Lou, it was OH's. His is an estate car, but for some reason he wouldn't even try to lift the sphere!

It would - and I asked them if a similar one could be made of blue lias stone (like our house and the new wall when it's built...) I wonder who has a birthday coming up? ;D

How lovely Geranium. You could make it for Christmas too, but he would forget that by the time it rolls around in December.
