I wanted to stay in the hospital at least until tomorrow but a couple hours after I got stitched up I was sent home with a nursing assistant as there were just too many patients coming in. I'm afraid I'd be pretty miserable once the numb feeling wears off.

Sorry about the accident Jrae. You will need to test your supervising skills. What a shock you must have got at the time.

Hope you're feeling better soon jrae, lucky it wasn't anything worse although it must be painful. Take it easy, the garden & farm will have to survive without you for a while.

I hope Jrae is alright as she is usually on the forum at some time each day.
I am making Dolmades and the grapevine leaves have gone over really, but I am trying them anyway. Would I be able to use the ornamental grape? I think the grapes can be eaten but taste horrible. This is not poisonous is it? Is it? I am using a few of the leaves to try them as they look great. I am now waiting on your answers before finishing all my mixture.

I ate it too Lou. I feel fit, just fat. I think Steve has mentioned that the grapes are edible, just horrible. If the grapes can be eaten, then the leaves would be alright I should think. I just googled it like you said and an Australian site came up. They thought the ornamental vine was useable. It was not the best forum though.
An interesting fact - Melbourne is the second biggest Greek city after Athens. This is according to the 2001 census, so imagine how many people of Greek origin are listed as Australian because they were born there.

I'm finding it hard to keep awake today...a mixture of bad nights and this interminable damp and dreary weather, I think. Mark will be even more delayed doing other work too - he said he couldn't start on the wall before the 20th. I bet that's not when he comes, though. Isn't it hard being patient! By the way, Cherry, I've tasted the grapes off our ornamental vine and they were indeed awful! I can't imagine that the leaves would be harmful though.

Thankyou Geranium. I will now make sure that I blanch and freeze the spring ones off the edible vine because the later leaves are coarser. The mixture left over will stuff a couple of couple of cabbage leaves which we can have for a meal tomorrow night.
