I have so many varieties Jomanda,Marys Jomanda, Ruskin Myra,Brenda T,Moor place,Mileys Carol,Embrace, Brians dream, Spanish dancer,Ryecroft Rebel, Ruskin Bride, Ruskin Myra, Blyton softer gleam cant remember anymore at the moment my brain isnt working.
Its been such a weird year this year weather wise that they were really behind and now seem to be steaming forward. Well it is only the first year of us growing them properly as last year we only had garden ones and a couple of show ones. Our guru from the allotment has moved to Scotland so havent had any help and its been a bit suck it and see and get the advise off here. As long as I do better than last year thats the main thing

I am just going to let them flower now, so hopefully this will delay the the rest of the plant from flowering too quickly. There is a show on the 20th Aug, which is a week earlier than the shows i normally start with. I will see what state they are in then, because i do not want to cover the beds too early in the season.

The dahlias on the new allotment are being attacked by all insects and slugs and snails going, not sure if the are taking revenge for me cultivating it or just pleased about the a la carte food given to them. One consolation though there is no dahlia smut on this allotment. ;D
