Have the seedling trials finished yet Tel?.....my cuttings have rooted ;D I think the seedling trials finished last weekend, what position mine finished in i do not know yet, i do not know if they email the growers or what. This is the first time i have entered a seedling, usually i go for a look round the trials every year, but with getting the new house ready and moving i just have not had the time to go this year. Even if the dahlia finishes way down the field i will try it has a small dec next season because the petal count is not as high has a lot of Min Decs. It may just finish up as a garden dahlia.

Will have to make time and visit the allotment this weekend, not been near it for a fortnight, i dread to think what state the veg may be in. no doubt the dahlias will still be flowering their heads off.

Well with the weather forecast for this week it looks like the dahlias will be getting frosted. Will have to think about what i shall keep out of them, for next season.

Mr Frost visited last night, foliage blackened nicely ... The end of one dahlia year and the beginning of the next I guess ... Update: Dahlias in garden are really black. Dahlias at nursery 4 miles away are still perfect and, in fact, cut this morning for a local customer; weird weather or what?

It is worth taking note of frost pockets for future reference Richard.

We haven't had any frost here yet, but my dahlias have finished flowering, will it be OK to dig them up now, or do I have to wait for the frost to blacken them?
