Went down as usual to open g'house this morning to find I had forgotten to close it last night The thermometer said it had dropped to 40F. which is the lowest it has been for ages now. I think a max. - min. thermometer is a must have in your g'house. must start a notebook again too as I forget so much these days

I haven't had one for two years. It broke when it was just a few months old and I never replaced it.

I didn't get on with mine. No idea where it is! I have an ordinary thermometer in each greenhouse, and the propagator has its own. We also have an internal/external one in the garden room.

I have two max/ min thermometers in my greenhouse SP, I put one in the paraffin heated propagator which is in the greenhouse, I like to see the difference . I record all the temperatures as often as possible in my file ( sad really ) Does anyone remember the wipe able gardeners notebook that was out a few years ago, can`t see them about so they mustn't have caught on.

I'm doing myself a little experiment, Each year my first crop of salads in the GH are by far the best. So, I've grown three rows of Radish, One as normal, one alongside with added fertiliser and one in another raised bed outside with no added fertiliser. Before I sow the first early crop I fertilise all the soil so either it doesn't last or maybe it get's too hot.
