I suppose the only consolation is, you still have your Kelsae for showing.

Another relatively new pest spreading! Yeh, and have you noticed they always come from the south ;D maybe we should re-build Hadrian's wall lower down

We all voted for 'The common Market' (well most, not me) We didn't vote for what it is now

On a lighter note, I had to smile when I heard on the news today that British pilots are having to learn French so they can ask permission to land on a French Aircraft carrier. Can you imagine what the cartoonists will say ;D

Hi Scrumpy I sent you a message on "Dear Derek"yesterday but it doesn,t seem to have posted. I agree with what has been said above It does seem to be leaf minor and there is no chemical cure I,m afraid so you have just been unlucky.Next year all you can do is cover them with fleece as soon as they are planted.

it'll be a good few years before i try again at the allotment. The back garden needs a lot of maintenace around the borders so it's time to bring forward the new walling and raised beds i was going to make and grow them there. The only difficulty will be persuading the wife that onions make an attractive foliage plant that will be the envy of her friends when they have their tea parties on the lawn that she thinks cuts itself

Sounds like a good idea to me Scrumpy, I'm sure she'll like it, you could always put a lonely little Petunia in it.

I stopped growing red onions, because the majority of the sets went to seed.
