Lovely Peony.....how long did it take for your roscoea to clump up like that. I think the beesiana is in the collection I just planted a few weeks ago....they are well up now ;D Its been in the same pot for about 4 years Lou. I overwinter it in my cold greenhouse and I do give it a (very) occasional feed . Its filled the pot now so I shall have to repot it next year. I might try a division in the garden because I think it is supposed to be hardy Oh...I didn't realise you had them in a pot....Mine are in the ground and they came through the winter ok here

Lots of lovely flowers, Tel - not just Dahlias at the lottie, then!. Yes, my Roscoea are planted in the border with no problems. Here are a few pics of my garden today - taken in between torrential rain showers. Clematis 'Piilu'. I bought a new plant yesterday, because the first one didn't thrive under the old apple tree. It may well have been too dry up there. Helenium 'Moerheim Beauty', which is usually the first one to flower. I decided to add Achillea 'Terracotta' to the border - Crocosmia masoniorum is in bud next to the group. This is Nepeta nervosa 'Pink Cat'. Here's the group of pink flowers in the border opposite the 'hot' border. My Ricinus aren't growing very fast yet! Two containers: 'Black' petunias, and the pot I had to replant because the Heuchera died. I usually grow some Coleus, but didn't this year for some reason. Finally, this is the first flower on the 'Flower Carpet' roses I planted on the bank when I did the makeover. I really like the colour.

they're all wonderful Peony, I love your roscoea and verbascum ;D I have to copy Grindle here. Don't Verbascum look a little like Delphiniums sometimes. I do like that one. What a pretty Nepeta. I do like that one Barbara.

A few from the allotment. I remember you posting photos of this part of the allotment when it was work in progress, you made a lovely job of it.

Looking good Grindle. Especially Dylan. Tel the greenhouse and shed look quite romantic. Is this the old or new allotment? When the GA photographer was here, he took a pic of the railway carriage with the hydrangea outside the door and said "That is pure Chelsea Gold." Your photos remind me of that.

That is the old Allotment Cherry, that greenhouse has been on there for donkeys years, there is not another like it on the site. It is like taking a step back in time. I really need to strip the glass out of the roof and then replace the glass useing some sealant it is leaking in places now. I remember Frank a old gardener who had it before me, he had both allotments for over 30 years. He asked me if i wanted one of his allotments when he could not manage both of them in his later years, because both allotments have a shared gate, he did not want a stranger useing it, then 12 months later he asked me to take on the one with the greenhouse on it. that is when i gave up the two i had further down the allotments, because 4 allotments was a bit much to look after and work full time.
