Thank you, I like the way everything is just blending into each other at the moment although the geraniums are taking over the front garden so I think I may have to cut them back a bit. This is the area under the front window with pots & self-seeded plants.

This is the scene next to my bin. I am doing up a small garden so my husband does not have to mow it. He won't let me have just plants, though I have enough, so we have to use membrane and gravel and paving stones for the barbeque. Oh well I suppose so. I expect a path would be handy too and he needs to get to the hedge to cut it. Deciduous Rhododendron which I bought for 50p a few years ago because I knew what it was and they were fed up with it. This is behind the shed. Darmera peltata This is the Geranium 'Mayflower' which is growing in the crack of the pavement. There are a lot of buds and more are on the way. The Cornus canadensis was there for protection during the winter, but I have had it for a long time and it is quite winter hardy. It will go back in the soil so it can spread. Choisya ternata Miniature Lilac

That is right Rosie. I used to think brick was very depressing. I am used to it now, but the Cambridge houses are made of yellow brick and they are awful.
One of the blue poppies in the first pic is out now and these were only photographed yesterday.

I love your bargain rhodo too Cherry, very pretty! I have areas of plants in pots 'waiting' for a new home' like yours but I'm waiting for the garden to grow overnight not just to redo a patch of garden like you!
