Thank you. My snails aren't a problem on Phlox - they go for various other plants, though - usually the precious ones. The Codonopsis I bought at H.C. is just stems now.

I love the phlox Geranium too bad I'm too far away to volunteer as garden helper or a garden gnome if you need one ;D I think Steve has seen this kind of heliconia already. It's managed to wreck the pot (rhizome grew too large) so hubby put it in the ground this morning. Heliconia wagneriana

Beautiful Phlox Geranium.
On GW last night Carol Klein did an interesting piece on plant families which really are resistant to slugs and snails. This part of the programme is worth looking at on I-player if you missed it.

Thanks - I might look at that. It's certainly not a gardening day today!

Beautiful Phlox Geranium. On GW last night Carol Klein did an interesting piece on plant families which really are resistant to slugs and snails. This part of the programme is worth looking at on I-player if you missed it. Thanks for the reminder Cherry I've just watched it, the trouble with me is after a few years I forget what has been eaten by slugs/snails in the past & buy it again, hence the two collections of bare stems which were the two perennial lobelias I bought recently! ;D I watered everything in pots & baskets etc. yesterday so it was obvoius it was going to rain today! I also cleaned out the birdbaths & topped up the pond so I might as well have done a rain dance! ;D

Thanks - I might look at that. It's certainly not a gardening day today! Well, I still haven't watched it, because when I came home from Church the weather was already clearing up and I had a lovely gardening afternoon after all! I'd like to introduce you to the most tenacious Clematis in the UK. ;D This is 'Mrs Cholmondely' who was one of the very first Clems I planted here. Every year she's been munched to the ground by snails, despite all my efforts to protect her, but she's returned every time - and miraculously, this year, I have a flower to look at! I'd almost forgotten what colour she is!

not too much, most has been spoilt by the weather. Kermasina, a bit wind blown Balloon flowers that were double have reverted to single Sammy Russell Jenny Bloom

Some pretty & sturdy plants there Geranium & Grindle! With the bad weather, slugs/snails etc. it's a wonder we've got anything to look at!

They all look lovely. It is nice to see a yellow Crocosmia for a change.

Lovely photos, Grindle. My most prolific Clematis - 'Alba Luxurians' looks very sad - I think you're right - the weather has really affected many plants.
