I wondered what that was Geumlover, it says you have to upgrade your account - I take it that means they want people to pay, hope they don't do the same with tinypic as they're the same group.

Last night we were just sitting down to supper when a few bits of soot came down the chimney, didn't give it a thought, then a bit more came down, then more..then a fledgling Siskin appeared! It escaped into the kitchen and Graham managed to catch it, poor thing squealed when he caught it but it's safely outside now. Luckily the fire wasn't on, what silly birdie

Good job you were in at the time as well Rosie or you could have come home to a house full of bird poop & feathers, hope it's mum recognised it covered in soot! We had starlings get stuck in our old house a couple of times once in the loft & once in the kitchen & they took some getting out & bluetit got stuck in the cavity wall in the kitchen once & I had to take a vent off the wall to get it out. Once on holiday in a cottage in Wales a tiny shrew fell down the chimney onto the hearth - must have been caught by a bird & dropped - I picked it up & put it out in the garden, it seemed dazed but O.K.

Just finished sweeping the chimney. Filthy job it is too!. Only time we have had a bird come down the chimney it went into a bricked up part and we could do nothing about it.

I remember when we lived at Kennethmont, we had gone on holidays and came back to find the house pooped on and 2 dead sparrows

Went over to Parkgate on the Wirral yesterday, chips and ice cream. Chips give me indigestion and proper ice cream like that is not good for my lactose intolerance. The walk along the front and back via the Wirral Country Park path cripples my back. BUT, boy did we enjoy it. Sadly though I did not enjoy breaking a tooth last evening. No pain, but it is sharp. Keep having to put dental wax on it to stop my tongue being ripped to shreds. Dentist on Monday. 100 mile round trip to our old home town.
