Went to Tesco for some peat free compost & bought a couple of little bucket kits they had one with chilli seeds & one with snapdragons complete with compost so I sowed the snapdragons & put the bucket in the greenhouse for now.

Spent the afternoon weeding and cutting back/ pulling up as I worked my way along one of our main borders. Hubs did some belated pruning.

I only unpacked a carton of my new pots and some 1010 trays. Yes, 1010 not 1020. These half sized flat trays will be idea for the initial seed starting process - soil blocks. And the 2.5 pots are perfect for filling half way then plunking a soil block with whatever seedgerminated in it, on top. These pots are super colourful and bring joy to me even before I get flowers. I've tried to upload a pic but it is too big and I do not know how to reduce it... let me think. I'll try something else...here we go.

Managed a short time in the garden putting down fertiliser and mulch. Did a bit of lawn edging, but it cripples my hands so it has to be done in short sections.

Love those pots & trays canadianlori! 😊 Not done anything in the garden today, too wet & windy, but am happy to see that 1 rudbeckia, 1 calendula & 2 of the mini cucumber seeds which I sowed on Wednesday are already up! 😊

Busy morning in the garden. Planted out the Hebe and Cordyline I bought yesterday, and then sowed various flower seeds in the greenhouse. Going to try and get some more done this afternoon.

not done anything as I have been visiting my youngest, Victoria and her hubby Dan. They are in the process of buying their first home and we went for a look see. They will have their first garden too. Very exciting.

Yesterday I bought my first bag of compost of the year! 👏 I plan to start sowing some tomato seeds during the week. If the weather is fairly good, i.e., no rain from the SW I'd also like to put some of the Carnation seedlings into pots. I have a trayful of them that I didn't have pots for last autumn & were just spread out in the tray they germinated in till I could get some more - which I never got around to doing!

Wet today so I just popped into the garden to pull some 'Timperley Early' rhubarb from the container near the greenhouse. Made rhubarb crumble for tea! 😊
