My Thunbergia mysorensis cutting has rooted, has grown about a foot and a half, and will need potting up. Also a spiral ginger is well rooted and some Costus plants need to be split up. I wish I could bring back the Thunbergia, but it is not worth the nerves in case I am caught.

Nothing for days apart from clear everything of the long fence as were having concrete post and concrete shutters put in on Tuesday, that means all the fences are done no more repairing wooden posts.

I haven't done anything other than feed the birds & lit the candle heater in the greenhouse on a couple of very cold nights. I did have to put my miniature waterlily in a plastic bucket yesterday though, it's in the greenhouse & had been in the glazed ceramic pot it lives in but this had flaked & cracked due to years of frost etc.& all the water had leaked out.

Hydrangea Bombshell arrived last evening and although unpacked it was not planted.....it was pretty dark. So checked it out.....not rootbound and just needed light pruning. It has been too wet to plant so I will wait a day or two but planting site is ready.

did get in the greenhouse yesterday and potted up the strawberry plants as they were bare root and I didn't want to lose them, only a temp measure as they're all in one pot until I can do them properly

Haven't done anything for many weeks. I still haven't planted my bulbs but I got some cheap compost from Wilko last week and hope to do it over the week end, if it isn't too cold.

Beautiful morning.....slight frost earlier but warming nicely now moved a clump of spigelia marilandica......if you dont grow this plant you are missing out on a real beauty,......to a revamped area where it will associate with berberis purpurea nana and anemone Elfin Swan. A parcel of sisyrinchium May Snow arrived so potted them up into slightly larger pots. Put cleome seeds in the fridge to sow in a week's time a sense spring is not too far away!

Bird baths all frozen so now sorted. Will pop down later to see how cyclamen have fared. Cherry not worth the risk.

I think I saw that spigelia in a plant/seed catalogue recently vc, I'd never heard of it before but it does look pretty & 'exotic', I don't think it would survive here though as it says 'hardy in coastal & fairly mild areas' so it would probably be too wet, windy & cold here for it. Not done anything in the garden here other than feed the birds, too wet & now too frozen!

I'm pleased to know your greenhouse is cosy lesley
I looked up spigelia ... never heard of it before. It's very pretty. I wouldn't mind having one
I went to look for my Solia. I thought I may have left it outside. I found it in a perspex shelter so it's all right.
