Stared at it, imagining what it will look like after the makeover. At the moment, the patio area is looking somewhat barren.

Thanks roofgardener I only managed 30mins out there yesterday, lovely and sunny but the wind was arctic so I went in the greenhouse, cleaned all my begonia corms and dahlias and put them in fresh compost ready to start sprouting sweetpea the only one I know is Otter Nursery off the A30 not sure if that's the one you mean

fed the birds, looked at the garden then went to the nursery in Bodmin ( steve if you're down this way, and haven't been, Bodmin Nursery is a great place to visit, doesn't look much from the car park, but don't be deceived ) I've just looked at there web site grindle, it's my sort of place were coming down to Devon in June, shall have to ask other half to take me they have a sweet little tea room too, a bit pricey but good

Just popped out yesterday when we got back to plant 3 clumps of snowdrops in the garden which I got from the snowdrop walk we went to at Bank Hall, just common nivalis types but they seem very tall & sturdy.

I put some Fuchsias in a perspex shelter last week, so today I placed them under the staging for protection from the cold. I couldn't take them all back up to the shed.

Fed the birds too,and remembered to de-ice their water bowl after one of our enormous crows pointed it out to me. Had to dig out the hosepipe (my water buckets were frozen solid) and water the greenhouse - as I asked the husband to switch the heaters on for me in there last night, and he'd turned it into a tropical rainforest, but without the rain, so everything was dying of heat and dehydration ... note to self, don't be lazy and leave such stuff to non-gardeners!

Same here, just fed the birds several times & put water out for them. Tried to light the 'candle heater' in the greenhouse last night but couldn't get in as the door had frozen solid, the plants just had to grin & bear it.

Luckily the only thing at risk in my g'house are the cacti plants and they are fairly hardy being kept dry. All the others are alpine seedlings and very hardy so not too worried.

Nothing except clear snow from gutters. Cornwall, unusually, covered in pretty thick snow. Sunny now

All I did was to feel the soil and it was frozen solid.

just making sure the birds have plenty of food and water at the moment. I did take another plant out of the greenhouse and brought it indoors as it wasn't looking happy, most of the things in there now are Hardy perennials and bulbs so should be ok

Just put food & water out for the birds again, the hosepipe, watering cans & water butts are all frozen solid so have to take hot water out to wash & fill the bird bowls, have given up trying to get in the greenhouse, nothing especially precious in there though.
