Wow, lovely harvest there grindle !! It was Lesley jellibeans I'm not that clever Finally a day for the garden, lots of deadheading, pulled up some finished annuals, took loads of blasted duckweed out of the pond, cut and edged the grass. I'm going to do the same jellibeans most of my borders now need a rethink, I'm afraid this year they've all been left to their own devices.

Grindle
Duckweed is a stinker in Aquariums as well. One way to eliminate it 110% is clean out as much as you can as often as you can I was doing it at every feeding time each morning. To make sure you never see it again wash every plant you add to your pond.
One thing I can guarantee it's a long and time consuming job.

I managed to get out in the garden at 6.30 last night & mow the lawn, it was quite long & had been soaking wet for most of last week but the sun & wind yesterday had dried it out just enough to mow. Started spitting rain just as I finished!

Yesterday I did a lot of tidying and cutting back of some overgrown Clematises and Roses on my trellises. They seem to be full of leaves but have very few flowers. I'm hoping that after a good haircut maybe they'll produce some flowers in the autumn.
I found some Coleus seedlings that I had forgotten about (I am surprised they are still alive) so today I hope to transplant them into little pots and maybe they'll give a bit of colour in the conservatory later on.

thanks keith yes it's a pain, hopefully relining the pond next month so will start again Tomatoes are showing signs of blight starting so cut a lot of leaves off in the hope I can get some more to ripen. Turned the compost bins which were long overdue as they didn't get done in the spring

Lifted some onions & put them to dry in the greenhouse, picked some tomatoes (I'm worried about blight too now grindle as it's been so wet & warm & I have lots of unripe toms.) & lifted some more Lady Christl potatoes from a pot for tea.

I will have to check my tomatoes for blight, I haven't noticed any yet but will have a better look today. I have loads of green ones starting to redden now. Picked two nice cucumbers yesterday but didn't get around to sorting out the Coleus seedlings or do anything else.

Fortunately I've had no problems with my toms this year, not a white fly in sight!

No blight on my tomatoes, I looked ... and I haven't got whitefly or greenfly on them either. It may be because I put some Tagetes in there with them and I've heard it said they deter the flies. I did some cutting back of overgrown shrubs this morning.

I did some dead-heading, tying up, weeding & cutting back yesterday as I was struggling to get down the paths & down by the pond in particular. Still needs more weeding & tidying but I got a lovely bunch of flowers from some of the cutting back:-
