That's lovely Sue, what is the tall ones at the back of display ?? The tall curvy ones with tiny white flowers are lysimachia alba, there are a couple of tall ones with lilac/pink flowers in there as well but I'm sorry I can't remember what they are, I'll see if I can find a label. I have lots of 'mystery' plants down the end of the garden around the pond where they came from, I just put in anything which said 'likes moist soil' as it sometimes floods down there & hoped for the best.

You too lesley, I couldn't find the label of the others but the white lysimachias are 'Elizabeth'.

Yesterday I made a little path up to my new polytunnel, from some spare sabs. Next year I am going to grow peas along one side of it and beans along the other side

That should look good Eli with your pea/bean walk! I mowed the lawn yesterday & then decided to take out the Joie de Vivre rose near the patio which kept blowing over & the 'Bowles Mauve' wallflower behind it which had just died of old age I think. I've got about 4 pots of cuttings of the rose which I've taken over the last couple of years so will be able to grow it again in a more suitable position. I've now got a space to fill ! I have a few roses in pots which may be suitable, I'm thinking of the Glenfiddich one & I have a pretty helenium which is trained/grafted into a 'standard' shape for now & maybe getting a new Bowles Mauve' as it's very popular with butterflies & bees.

I spent some time today weeding in between the showers. I've got a week off work, so plenty of jobs lined up in the garden for the next few days.

That's great SueA, sometimes it's good to take the bull by the horns and sort things out. Your garden will look nice with the new cuttings in a different place and more appropriate plants there. I never knew Helenium could be trained as a standard. I love them but they don't love my garden unfortunately.
Have a good week off Andrew ! I hope you can get some gardening done.

I'm afraid the garden has taken a back seat over the last week, with family down and now I'm trying to get the extension painted outside before the weather shuts it down. Have been feeding the birds though

All I did yesterday was limp down to the greenhouse & pick the ripe tomatoes & pull off any leaves with signs of blight - salad for tea! I got bitten on the ankle by something, possibly a horsefly, on the park on Monday when we went to the local summer show & my ankle has swollen up like a balloon again - same thing happened a couple of years ago. I've been taking antihistamine tablets & putting sting/bite cream on it & it's come down a little bit but very stiff.

Sounds painful SueA I got stung by a bee in Tuesday, my own fault as I wasn't paying attention properly when dead heading the Echinacea. Still in border reorganisation mode at the moment, so that will keep me out of mischief for a while.....so long, long while I expect!!

I hope you will both be out of pain soon SueA and jellibeans. I can sympathise, having been stung by a horse fly in the past - very painful and swelling up to the size of an egg I find Anthisan ointment very good.

Thanks Eli & jellibeans, it's a little bit better this morning but yesterday I could hardly get my shoe on:- Managed to hobble down the garden to feed the birds & lift the last of the Lady Christl potatoes for tea.
