Thanks Raymond, I love different ones as we always have a dahlia section in our local shows and I know something different always wins also I'm thinking of doing something different in the front garden, let me know what you think, changing the subject have you found a greenhouse yet ?? Les Hi Leslie no greenhouse yet going to take a trip down to bournes that you recommended need to clear the area first and lay the base . I will make use of the garage in the mean time. I might splash out on a fancy propogator with mist system etc... Heated and lit also. The chairman at Kent society recommends it but at 500 need to be sure. But when totting up the price of heat mats and seperate lights etc... Works out not much more. The dahlias your looking for are they dwarf border you want or anything taller ? Seen loads I like. Waltzing Matilda is very pretty as is jescot Julie. lesley, one I grew this year for the garden - Dahlia 'Edinburgh' - is a bit different, it has claret coloured petals tipped white.

One of my favourite roses, SueA. Everywhere is looking very autumnal - this is the view from my seat. Vitis cognetiae And that wonderful Rudbeckia 'Summerina' with Coronilla valentina.

Very colourful Geranium. Is that rudbeckia a annual or perennial variety?

Lovely pics on this thread. Lou78W you are a better man than I am. I would not have known Geranium's pretty yellow flower was a Sternbergia. These are the same Nerines pictured last month. They last for way over a month. Osteospermum Aconitum Salvia microphylla. I love it. An hour after the photos were taken.

Very colourful Geranium. Is that rudbeckia a annual or perennial variety? It's a new hardy Echinacea/Rudbeckia cross, Lou78W. It has flowered non-stop since I planted it, and I wish I'd bought more before they were sold out. Obviously other people liked it too! I love Nerines, Cherry - they just appear like clockwork at this time of year and seem 'improbable' somehow - such a happy flower. There is a garden on the road to Bridgwater that has borders full of just Nerines - a wonderful sight, but I do wonder what the garden's like the other 10 monnths of the year!

I was in the Fens all last week with my parents, and it hailed like crazy for a short time on Saturday - I have never heard anything like it on the conservatory maybe it was the same storm as Cherry got? I saw some gorgeous clumps of Nerines around the village near my parent's place, I think they must like the Fens. I really like your rose 'Nice Day' SueA - well, the other two are lovely as well but I've got a bit of a thing for peachy-pinky roses. I like the name too.
