'Nice Day' is a lovely rose Bess , I've got it as a small climber in wooden troughs with trellis attached either side of the dustbins at the moment to disguise them a bit. The flowers are fairly small but as you say they're a pretty peachy pink & repeat flower a couple of times.

I was in the Fens all last week with my parents, and it hailed like crazy for a short time on Saturday - I have never heard anything like it on the conservatory maybe it was the same storm as Cherry got? I saw some gorgeous clumps of Nerines around the village near my parent's place, I think they must like the Fens. I really like your rose 'Nice Day' SueA - well, the other two are lovely as well but I've got a bit of a thing for peachy-pinky roses. I like the name too. Do your parents live near me Bess? My husband said that was almost certainly the hailstorm we got. It actually was much worse about 10 minutes earlier when the whole table was covered with hail. I have Nerines in all parts of this garden. They do grow well here. In fact the house is full of them too, because I have picked the ones I can't get out to see.

My parents live out in the droves beyond Little Downham, Ely, Cherry I am not sure where you are but I know you're not too far from Ely. I was outside picking up hailstones for my niece who's 5 and wanted to eat them - makes my teeth wince to think about it!

I live just on the Norfolk side of the Norfolk/Cambridgeshire border, halfway between Downham Market and Littleport. My friends live on these drove roads. They are quite amazing and turn into little hamlets named after the roads.

I think it's supposed to be scented Rosie but I haven't really noticed, I'll have to go & have a sniff tomorrow & let you know.

I looked 'Nice Day' up online and it's supposed to be sweetly scented. I have this hardy fuschia 'Hawskhead' shoved in one of my troughs of 'stuff to keep alive until I've got a new garden to plant it in!' I wasn't expecting it to look so lovely right now or i'd've planted it somewhere to show it off better. It reminds me of a snowdrop with it's colouring, and the delicate flowers just dance. Apologies for the rubbish photo, was windy and gloomy today and my camera wasn't really up to it.

I agree, Bess, it's a lovely Fuchsia - I have it in a large pot.

Looks gorgeous Bess and very dainty, even though it is hardy.

That is pretty Bess , I'll have a look for that next year. Rosie I have had a 'sniff' of 'Nice Day' today & it is 'sweetly scented' as Bess says , not very strong but lovely.

The variegated Abelia is still going strong. This Cotoneaster is full of berries to keep the birds fed overwinter. One of the winter planted containers.

Pity I can't see your pics, daitheplant - there are little squares where they should be.

Geranium that is the best Abelia I have seen. Do you remember when I thought I didn't like them? I love the underrated Cotoneaster.
