Lots of nice planting on those displays grindle, I like the metal frame around the rose & clematis in the pot. I was wondering about how you were supposed to mow that wavy lawn too!

Always preferred HCFS to Chelsea FS. Its bigger, you can buy plants/seeds from day one and at the time it was just down the road from me I could park in my daughter's flat car park just across the road and get the boat down to the main entrance where I either got in free or with a MUCH reduced ticket courtesy of RNRS affiliation

Lovely photos grindle ...... I've already ended up in hospital with a lawn mower accident, so I'll give that rollercoaster lawn strip idea, a miss.
Were the orchids from McBeans from Cookbridge? They got a Chelsea gold, so wondering if they were at HC as well.

dianthus I'm not sure who's display it was, I tried reading the label but to no avail sweetpea I love HC and used to go often when I lived up there, now it's an occasional visit as it's really too far for me, well worth it though

I fell, backwards, into a cold frame, sweetpea The mower stopped as soon as I let go of the petrol engagement bar. Holding on to the mower handle did mean that I kept my hands away from the glass. I have a nasty scar on my left arm that went deep. Luckily, two neighbours heard me scream and came running. This was over ten yrs ago

Not had a cold frame since that day. A neighbour kindly packed up all the broken glass and frame and took it to the tip for me.
