Your Clivia is way ahead of mine, I think it was Cherry's which was even earlier, perhaps I should give mine some attention? My garden is looking very spring like. The Daffs have replaced the snowdrops in the wood. Lots more spring bulbs The first Epimedium . . . . . . and Azalea

Your woodland looks lovely WF, my epimediums are still at the unfurling stage The woodland walk is wonderful. Did you have nettles to get rid of before you could make it look this good? I have one full of nettles, and one with a lot of sloes coming up as suckers. Both represent a lot of work, but both have daffodils.

How lovely to see spring! Thank you both for the photos. That hyacinth is a real eye-catcher, Grindle - do you happen to know its name please?

Well Wf and Grindle, I would say by your pictures that you are about two weeks ahead of me in the North east. One of "my" gardens has a semi woodland area full of Daffs and the yellow is just showing as a slit in the protective sheath on some. The Hyacinths are still tight green flower bud cones amid the leaves too.

Both represent a lot of work, but both have daffodils. My wood is only tiny and I planted it myself in what was grass. There were no 'nasties' to begin with and I mulch with a thick layer of leaves each year to suppress any weeds.

My Iris bucharica opened two flowers today. I'm very fond of this plant.
