I do like the idea of 'tidy clumps'. All mine have a life of their own

I hope you see one (or more!) that you'd like to grow Wf. Grindle's right - they're very versatile plants. Thanks, Steve - and nice to hear that you have some, Merlin!

That's good, Cherry - didn't you know what it was before?

I really don't know my Geraniums very well, so this must have been a freeby. I know the ones that shout, and I have a very good Renardii which I hope has not been smothered. Somewhere I have Max Frei too and I like this one. I am not so keen on the stripy veined sort. I like definite colours.

Next instalment - wandering Geraniums! I've shown you some neat tidy clumping Geraniums - now for some that like to mingle. I suppose the most well-known one is 'Rozanne' She is herbaceous, but makes yards of growth in a season. She starts flowering in June, and finishes in late October or even November. She mingles well, doesn't she! 'Jolly Bee' is a very similar Geranium with the same habit - the RHS says it's the same as 'Rozanne', but I think the flowers tend to be slightly smaller. Sadly, these two Geraniums are sterile. The others I'm going to show you all produce seed. All the Geranium wallichianum group grow along and out, too - This is G. wallichianum 'Crystal Lake'. And this is G. wallichianum 'Syabru'. 'Buxton's Variety' is another member of the family, and sprawls around as you'd expect. 'Pink Penny' is the pink sister of 'Buxton'. There are several more wanderers - G. thunbergii G. psilostemon - a very bright magenta colour, this one! 'Stormchaser' One with an unpronounceable name - G. wlassovianum and many more. However, I have a soft spot for one of the G. pyrenaicum group - 'Bill Wallis'. It has small but bright purple flowers, and once you've got it, you won't be without it, as it seeds around. But seeing it ambling through other plants is a joy. I love the minglers in my garden. ;D

I used to say that they 'spread' and steer clear of them but, I'm beginning to see that 'mingling' is rather nice

I'm pleased to hear that, Merlin! Maybe I have a convert. ;D Tel - I think I have about 80+ varieties of geraniums now. A few more are duplicates - I have two 'Rozannes' and 'Jolly Bees' and lots of dear Bill Wallis! I'm not counting those. Thanks, Steve.
