I love codonopsis...I grew one from seed many years ago in Harrogate....beautiful markings inside arn't there ;D...was very hardy there Merlin.

I've googled it and it looks a little bit like some Campanulas. Also it can grow quite big. I'm begining to become interested but I can't find much growing info.

It does indeed have beautiful and unexpected markings inside the flowers. It was advertised as being hardy so I'm pleased to hear that Lou says it is. I didn't think it grew tall - mine is only up to 6". It's for sun, as far as I know, so that's where I planted mine.

Blowsy indeed! good pic. If that's 'blousey then the Kalmia must be 'Naughty knickers' ;D and so long as they're not planted near Calendulas or French marigolds they certainly brighten things up a bit. I seem to remember that I can't grow Kalmias, acid soil I think.

I wonder if my plant will set seed? That would be good! If I remember rightly mine set seed quite readily. I remember it sprawled a lot...rather untidy...but it was planted in a raised border and trailed down a bit Fancy me remembering all that....and so long ago.....
