I've just googled it and it's on my wish list. I now have one, Merlin - waiting to be planted. ;D I actually went quite a way to buy one a couple of months ago, but it flowered - WHITE! I'm waiting to hear what the Nursery is going to do about it. In the meantime, I found a 'real' one at a GC not far from here..

One of those scented pale blue Aquilegia's in parents garden. Another species of Aquilegia with small but pretty pinky-orange flowers. Don't know which species it is though.

Where do I start? Grindle the Cornus is a beauty and all your plants are maturing and look just the ticket.
Floydie, that is so good to get the children interested. I am glad they grew for Beth, but they do look pretty too. I expect you will show her the pics on the forum. Clever girl Beth.
Merlin, I rooted Deutzia rosea plena for you which you asked for last year. It is only a first year cutting, but would you like it?

Beth did a good job with choosing those dahlias ;D
I got Strawberry Fields from Parkers a couple of years ago and it's growing very well
Steve, I thought the hosta bud looked like a globe artichoke ;D
Like those aquilegias SteveN, I didn't know there was a scented one.

SteveN. What will happen with the Aquilegias now? Surely they will never be the same ones from seed, so you would have to keep the main plant and split it vegetatively. Is that what you do?

I like Aquilegias - mine are virtually finished, sadly, due to 'that' wind. Those pale blue ones are really pretty, SteveN. What lovely flowers you have in your garden, Peony! This is my new Salvia pratensis 'Madeline'. Roscoea cautleyoides 'Jeffrey ?somebody?'. Astrantia 'Ruby Wedding' Cistus x purpureus & Phuopsis stylosa.

Some lovely pics there Peony....love the foxgloves! and the "shrubby" delphiniums ;D Thanks Lou Yes, shame about the delphiniums, I've got some dark blue ones further up the garden which are not flowering yet and they seem to have survived the lack of rain better.
