I always seem to do well with my Toms - I grow them like this They are big pots Ester. Your toms look really good , mine never do very well but perhaps this is the year they will.

I'm going to try Shirley this year. Has anyone any experience of these ? I have grown them for two years with success. I would do so again because it is nice to have a good tomato which is not a cherry variety. They are nice and even and a lovely colour. Shirley, was the one exhibitors did grow, before first Goldstar then Cedrico superseded it.

I use grow pots too....in large 12-14" pots; I top up the compost in the middle, so new roots can grow; they are so easy to water and feed;the holes in the watering circle percolate the liquid through so that the compost takes up the liquid slowly rather than rushing through as in normal pots....

Esther, Ildi is not worth growing IMHO Millions of tiny tomatoes but individually too small to be of much use. Just my opinion of course.
