Didn't you do well johndoe. Congratulations on your success; you must be very proud of yourself. I'm going to Harrogate Flower Show next weekend and am looking forward to seeing all the dahlias. Its been a good few years since I've been.

Oh dear Les, that wasn't good ! The spring one is usually quite chilly too, the autumn one is usually warm and sunny and makes for a nicer day out ! I'll be going with a friend, it's about 45 minutes from us, and on the Sunday so less traffic around generally too. Hope you enjoy Malvern. Are you going with B? Say hello for me if you are. 'm going to the Harrogate Flower shown next weekend with friends. Hope the weather is good for all of us!

Lovely variety @louise. I have a couple of white hydrangeas, one is a peniculata type and one a ball type. Can't remember the names though.

Fortunately I've had no problems with my toms this year, not a white fly in sight!

Managed to get some deadheading done and watering, despite it being pretty windy. Shame really as it is quite warm and sunny out there....

Overcast today and a bit of a breeze that will hopefully dry the ground out a bit. Quite a few of my plants are recovering from being half drowned. Temps are way down too..quite chilly enough to have the heating on for a while.

Got the borders at the front weeded yesterday, and trimmed the lavender hedge; it flowered early this year and is now looking very drab. The back garden got waterlogged with all the downpours a few days ago and I think some plants have drowned; I'll wait a few days before deciding if they need to be lifted. Concentrating on dead heading the pots and watering in the greenhouse. I've been getting a good crop from some aubergine plants; can't remember the name but they are the tiny fruits and they are lovely roasted with other veg.

We've been lucky and "missed out" on the high winds, in fact there is hardly a breeze at all. We have had lots of rain though and parts of the garden (the more heavy soil) have flooded for a short while....oh joy

Nice collection Grindle. I got the Hakonechloa last year but it didn't survive the winter, surprisingly, as we didn't have a particularly cold/wet winter. I've got the new clematis "Lemon Drops" and a collection of salvia arrived today, Hot Lips and her two sisters!

Not sure that it is Handel. This bloom seems to have all the outside petals the darker pink whereas Handel has the darker colour swirling through the edges, and as you say Cherry, Handel is a climber and this one appears to be a shrub rose of sorts. Suggest you look at one of the rose growers Eli, their websites will have a whole array to choose from. Good luck!
