Sorry to hear that you 'mislaid' Aquila, Cherry, and I'm glad it had a happy ending. We went off for three nights, and Henry slept in our room at each place. That's the first time, and he was 'Angel-dog'. At least we now know that we can take him anywhere!

My daughter takes Brodie with her when she visits Scotland and goes on holiday. She comes back with a new haircut (cocker) and treats me as second best. I won't take the dogs, because I know who would need to look after them and take them out.

We used to take our boxer dog on holiday with us in self catering cottages. We took her bed & she'd be very uneasy at first in a strange house & want to sit on my knee ( fully grown & as big as me! ;D) & sleep in the bedroom with us (she didn't at home). Her bed would start off in the bedroom, then on the landing, then end up in the kitchen as she snored like mad! ;D

I wondered if he'd snore, but he didn't - luckily. He didn't stay in his bed all night though - he wandered around the room a bit and sometimes stretched out on the floor. He seemed fine in a strange place, and came down into the bar area where we had to eat of course, and just lay down next to us. I was very proud of him. ;D He sleeps in the kitchen at home, and isn't allowed in the bedrooms.

I can't believe this. After making such a fuss and phoning the cat home, my neighbours and telling you on the forum, Aquila is here. I think Sue and the cat home nailed it. The tractors were very close to her and have been working in the field near where she has chosen to stay. In the last fortnight they have scalped the beet and lifted it, then ploughed, harrowed, etc., also sowed wheat all in the last fortnight. There was a harvester and a trailer for lifting the beet. I found out that the cats came from Terrington St Clement and a woman used to feed them every day until there were too many. Aquila was difficult to catch, but Atticus was first in the trap. There were other cats. The cats were playing together in the field where the washing line is. I'm pleased she is back, she knows which side here bread is buttered on.

My husband made a winter box for the cat with a rug as well, which he has slept on before when it was in the dog kennel. How can I get him to it? The dog kennel which he used when the dogs were not in it has been lifted and put in the arcon for maintenance over winter. The cat box is in the front porch which no-one uses. He is sleeps under a tree now at night now. Maybe I have answered this myself. Perhaps I should put the fluffy rug under the dogs so that it does not smell fresh and washed. Atticus loves the dogs.

Millie flatly refuses to use her fleece after i've washed it, she'll sleep anywhere but on it - so, i have to rub it all over Maddie before she'll use it - and that's not always either. It's very irritating !

Thankyou Louise. I will put the mat over the dogs bed which is in the kitchen so that they lie on it. Atticus pinches the dog's posh bed in the sitting room so he really thinks he is a dog.
I wonder if you have a wife Hywel. I think you have and I think she would wish that her name was Blodyn.
