The vest is brilliant Sue. It has poppers and Velcro to undo around her tail when she does her needs and is much more comfortable than the 'buster' collars. It looks smart and can easily be washed and used again. She is sleepy now because she has had her pain killer. I don't think she felt much pain because she stayed fairly quiet and is not allowed to exercise more than 5 - 10 minutes about four times a day. She wanted a bit more than that, so she must be feeling alright.

Sounds like she's doing very well Cherry, the vest seems like a great idea, much better than the hard collar.

Brodie spent Tuesday night at the vet's hospital, because the wound opened up - badly. She is well, but now she has the horrible megaphone around her neck to let air into the sore. I have to wash it with sterile water and pack it with honey using a syringe and give her antibiotics. I am pleased that they are using manuka honey as they can't better it for healing properties.
Sammy had to sleep in the conservatory with the cat for company. The cat came in as the weather was really inclement, but he is out most of the time now.

She is fed up and so am I. She bumps into everything and Sammy was frightened of her.

Aww, poor Brodie (& Sammy, he must realise something is wrong). I wouldn't have thought vet's used honey, more likely to use some expensive medication nowadays. Hope she's feeling better soon.

The vet uses nothing inexpensive Sue. I was able to use my son's girlfriend's services by phoning her for some information which was a great help. She qualifies next month in Edinburgh and checks the dogs out when she is here. This will be her second degree. Yes, I am boasting about her, but this explains why she is nearly 27 and just graduating again.

A very practical career Sue. Brodie went to the vet today. Four vets were involved in her care and she is now healing and off the honey. She is getting an antiseptic wash about three times a day now, but has to wear her megaphone for a while yet. I am really pleased now.

Brodie had her final check-up today and is feeling and looking well. Her antibiotics course is now completed and she can stop the painkiller at night. I no longer have to bathe her operation scar with disinfectant, so it won't be so time consuming. She has to wear her megaphone at night only and if I see her licking the wound through the daytime. It took a long time for Brodie to get over the operation, but it is all good news now.

Atticus wanted to bring his rabbit in to the house as the dogs are in and he shows off in front of them. However, the door was firmly shut. He has pared off the bits you would imagine nothing could eat, but I find he is sharing it with a magpie. It is quite offputting to find that the magpie runs in and picks up these nasty bits while the cat is eating his bit. This is all happening at the door. The wildlife cleans up everything outside.
