I hope Bertie is better now Bess.
I thought I'd show some photos of Bella ... She thinks the cold frame has been put there for her
And she thinks she owns the road ...
She watches it all the time

That is a gorgeous pic of Bella @hywel. I would worry about the road, even if it is quiet.
Lily was in the basket which holds gardening gloves today. There was no sun today and that was the warmest place. It is time to start using the cat hottie, which I originally had for Killer Cat, before Atticus.

It's quite a busy little road Cherry. People use it as a short cut ... so Bella is always alert for the cars. When one comes along, she gives it a look of disgust and then strolls to the side before letting it pass. People have come to know her I think, and I can see them laughing as they drive past But I always tell her to keep off the road (not that she listens !)
Is Lily an outdoor cat ?

She is an outdoor cat and I am waiting for her to come home, but she could be in the hangar with the engineer. He gave her to us and likes her to catch mice in the hangar. She does not actually catch rabbits, but she scares them away which is good. My other cats used to kill them, but Lily is too light and very skinny and petite. Lily normally sleeps in the conservatory, but today is cold and I want to transfer her back to the cat kennel where I can put her hottie. It is the sort especially for cats, which is heated in the microwave and stays warm all night.

I would worry about the road too @hywel although Bella looks as though she rules the lane! There is a cat around the corner here who lies in the road, it will lie behind a parked car & refuse to move so that the driver has to VERY carefully reverse to get out of the space, they all know the cat though & it's a dead end so it's fairly safe! Lily will need her hottie Cherry as the forecast is for it to get cooler this week - it is autumn now after all.

There's nothing I can do about Bella on the road SueA. She goes looking for mice in the hedgerow. But it's a narrow road, and also short, so the cars can't build up much speed anyway. I think cats can get a sort of road sense in a way. I once lived on a very busy main road, and the cat I had then lived to be 22 yrs old. There were woods across the road from the house, and I used to see her looking and listening for cars before running across it.

hahaha SueA, grindle, you are quite right The glass has come out of one side, so I haven't used it this year, and Bella can get in. Next year after I mend it, I'll have to think of some way of stopping her go in there. (or leave an empty space for Bella ! )

I reckon it should stay as her very own cat conservatory @hywel
