Do any members here have one ? I've the opportunity of going halves on one of these ..... www.notonthehighstreet.com/lincolnshiredovecotes/product/dovecoteMy sister has offered to go halves with me for my xmas pressie and am tempted to do it, i was wondering if anyone else had one and if they got enjoyment out of it ? (She usually buys me gardening pressies for xmas but didn't expect this, i'd been talking about them and she must have been taking more notice than i imagined !!! )

How lovely Louise ;D.....Don't know anything about keeping doves; though there are several dovecotes at The Alnwick Garden. My immediate thought was of that *****y cat that visits your garden ..Were you planning on getting your own doves?or would it be a "free for all"... I would do a bit of research first before committing yourself..

I was actually just going to have it as an ornamental thing Lou, and yes, i have thought about that cat - i seem to do nothing else lately This dovecote is the smallest i've seen and i've done quite a bit of looking, the rest are up to twice the overall size which is not what i want at all. I'd site it in the back garden, not sure yet whether i'd place it on an upright or wall mounted structure

We have quite a large one here courtesy of the previous owners. never seen a bird in but there is a wasps' nest in there so I tend to leave it alone.

There's one in a garden i pass regularly, i went in and asked the owner about it - we had a nice chat and i jokingly said that if it disappeared he could come looking for it in my garden ;D ;D

That is lovely Louise. Like you say, if doves don't settle in it it would look good in the garden.
I have a couple of doves come every year, but they have their nest and bring up their children at my neighbour's house which is disappointing. I get very fond of them. I have to drive to the neighbour, but the birds can get there in a straight short flight.

Go for it Louise, you have been wanting one for a while. I read the spec and it seems very well made and built to last. I think it would look lovely in your garden.

It's actually a very reasonable price compared to most the ones you see for sale and going halves would make it quite do-able. I'm talking myself into it - with all yours help
