The memsahib has a birthday coming up soon and I've no idea what to get her. What do you buy for someone who has everything, after all she does has me. I wondered about a new hoover or a pair of oven gloves, what do you think?

If you buy either of those for her, how about buying her a good set of kitchen knifes as well? Then she could carve the meat and two veg, YOURS ;D

Yes, that's exactly what would happen ;D Merlin, it's SO simple, buy her something that she'd love but wouldn't buy herself because she'd think it too expensive or extravagant - that is always a sure winner. Why don't men see this

;D I must be the exception to the rule then, I ask for things like sheds, wheelbarrows etc. I guess I'm not into 'girly' presents

Why don't men see this Its usually lack of imagination ....not that I think for one minute that Merlin is not imaginiative

If the OH bought me a vacuum cleaner, he’d be wearing it ;D
How about the promise of a day out with a pub lunch or evening meal? You both enjoy looking round NT properties.

I did allow her to have an extended tea break this afternoon, she fell asleep in the middle of GQT !

Only a man could phrase it as "cut your nails and massage your joints" If you offer this i'd suggest phrasing it like this "manicure and massage"
