I'm a coward, the most I've tried is a tiny bit of squid and hated it. You wouldn't catch me trying anything out of the ordinary

The more rubbery squid is, the older/more stale it is. It should be easily chewed at its freshest - yum ;D Plus, the rings of squid are a higher quality than those wierd shaped condom-looking pieces.

as a child, 2 of my brothers fed me, under duress, a range of rock pool items. sea anemone [red jelly ones], shrimp, seaweed [3 types] periwinkle, mussel, limpet: as well as the odd caterpillar/worm and maggot. wasnt until I was violently ill one afternoon that their game came to an end. Still cant eat shell fish, even cooked.
makes me fell queasy just thnking about it and that was 40+ years ago.

When I was young my Dad used to take me to the fish stall at St Albans' market on a Saturday afternoon and get a pint of winkles in their shells and we would have them for tea with bread and butter. We had to get the winkles out of their shells with a pin. I haven't seen them for sale for a long time now.

The only fish I will eat are salmon, cod, haddock and halibut.I tried prawns but didn't like them. Have never tried crab, squid, mussels etc. I used to eat liver years ago but couldn't now. Can't eat unusual meats ,offal or lamb. It would probably be quite easy for me to become vegetarian ;D

I'm pleased I didn't have older brothers. ;D Peony, you can still buy Winkles down here or collect them yourself at low tide. Now this is something I wouldn't try So, who would try a Witchetty grub?

Aren't they a delicacy in Australia? Shudder....
My mam used to go over to Byker and buy live crabs, me and my sister used to annoy them when they were in the sink, we'd prod them with our toothbrushes ;D ;D

Too long in the airforce I think.
