Can anyone recommend a place to get thes solar powered lights that you stick in the ground to line the path at night? I did find some on line but every time I tried to access the site my wireless connection packed in. So frustrating. Seems like I'm having to reconnect every few minutes at times.

The ones you 'stick into the ground' may cost a bit and also tend to get shaded from the sun. What about a string of those tiny fairy lights that are powered by one larger solar unit that can be placed in a sunny position.

I have not found any solar lights which last yet, all the lights I have tried have only lasted one season. I've seen them in all the GS, B&Q, Argos etc.

At this time of year when you need them most, there's not enough sun to fire them up. so outdoor christmas lights would be better. If you use the string of tiny lights and remove every other bulb they should last longer.

I agree with WLF, I've had 2 sets of them and they didn't last, some even went out not long after they had been put in

They don't last and I only put them out in the good weather.
Can I get a tape or something at gutter level to mark the end of the drive? There used to be three posts opposite, but they have been mown down and I now have a terrible job finding the driveway at night. It is dark along here.

You know the little light that's always winking in the car, well it doesn't use any electric, well hardly. It's not a bulb, it's the modern neon/diode thingybob. Well I'm sure you could get something like it at Maplins. You could mount it on a post or tree. If it wasn't any good it would scare off a burglar!

Hate to say this....well not really but OH has bought several and they all work well, especially these. Funny thing is, she got them very cheap from a 50p shop

We just take a torch. I did not make that clear. It is from the main road that we can't find the end of the drive to turn off the road. If this turning is missed, it is quite a long way to turn.

If a traffic cone accidentally fell into your boot, you could cut a square out of it and stick it to a post.

Cherry, I know my son bought some reflective tape for his bike from his local bike shop, which had adhesive backing, perhaps you could stick something like that on a couple of large stones to mark the end of your drive, which would reflect back when your headlights shine on them

I know this thread dates back to 2011 but the best solar lights I have found where on amazon in a box of 12, they've done me brilliant the past couple of years

We bought some from Aldi last summer, will have to see how long they last, they come with a 3 year guarantee.
