Do you have a real tree or an artificial one? Is your tree decorated differently each year, or do you stick to the same style and colours? We have four trees altogether - but I'm not sure if this 3" tall one really counts! ;D (Nor my little silver one, either.) This is the (only) real tree which is in the hall. It's a 6' tall Norway Spruce this year, as OH wasn't able to get a Nordmann which is our preferred choice. We can't have a taller tree as the ceilings are low.

We have 3 trees - a Norway Spruce by the front door, a Nordman in the sitting-room and an artificial one for the Granchildren to decorate with all the decorations I have bought them over the years ;D This is the tree by the front door - it looks lovely when it is dark - with the star lights glistening ;D When I can take a decent photo of the sitting-room tree I will post it

It's looking Christmassy now. Geranium I know what you mean about low ceilings, the previous occupant here made a hole in the floor to get the clock in. I've had to have my legs shortened.

That's lovely - I like the bows! I'd like one outside, but OH hasn't managed to get wiring put there - yet.

I dont know what variety I will get this year as I still have to buy it. It will be decorated on the 17th. We always put it up then as my mum always did. when she was little she thought it was her birthday tree as 17th was her birthday. so tradition was born for our family. I use a range of baubles some are pre 1st world war. Part of me would love to do a themed one but I love the old ones as some were bought for me asa child. the angel we use is from 1938 and is naked so she wears tinsel every year.

I don't usually put trees or decorations up because they look cluttered and then start to irritate me I do though have a fresh, thick luxurious wreath out by the front door and a winter plant display there too - it doesn't look cluttered out there !!!

What do you wear Seaburn It's so nice to see someone cherishing old things, they mean so much more, good on you, how on earth did you manage to keep then so long without them breaking?

We'll probably have our usual 'invisible' tree! ;D I like real trees but we don't have room for one. I did see an artificial one which fits in a corner (right-angle shaped so you just decorate the front) & thought I could possibly throw out the ailing swiss cheese plant from one corner of the room & put it there but it was 'on offer' for £31.99 & O.H. said he wasn't paying that for a quarter of a tree! ;D

I like your trees Geranium and Esther. I bought an artificial one yesterday in Wilkinsons but the feet don't fit on properly. Bought another one in poundstretcher today for half the price, and it looks nicer aswell Sometimes I put some deciduous branches with decorations on them, but haven't done it this year.

I ended up with a diddly squat one this year, is it me or have the Nordmans shot up in price Well I am having a small tree by choice which would be free anyway Grindle. I no longer have a huge tree, because the family have shrunk and there are no children here to help with the decorations. They always loved doing this. My youngest was shocked last year as he thinks it should be touching the ceiling and knocking the paint of the walls. It still looked pretty. Mine will go up at much the same time as Seaburn's. There is a birthday in the way here too.

Our rooms are very small here, but we prefer the tiny house with small rooms and 40 acres, to our huge smart house on Oxfordshire. It cost the same as we sold the last house for. Everyone is different. I can see Louise is very tidy and minimalist. I wish I could be like that.
