Ice-cream is so easy to eat and slips down the throat without any effort at all. and is soothing.....thats probably the doctor recommended it

The doctor said to eat a toast, a potato or ice-cream when I start eating again. Ice-cream! I didn't know that so I thought I would pass on the tip. If my doctor recommended ice cream i would be the bestest patient in the world and comply with everything he/she said ;D ;D ;D

Jrae the doctor was not so liberal minded. I can see Lou's point about the ice cream though as I still have not got a proper voice back. My husband felt sorry for me and bought some Mackies ice-cream, but I was worried about the calories. I still had some though. Like Rosie, I just love it.

It has a "clean" taste Rosie. There are more expensive ice-creams which just aren't as good, but I won't eat cheap ones. I usually head for Lossiemouth when I come to Moray for an Italian ice-cream. Miele's ice-cream is a favourite. I knew Rose Miele who used to do her gardening at Hopeman in her pearls.

Strangely enough when I'd had a really bad stomach bug years ago my doctor told me not to eat any dairy, milk, cream etc. as it would upset me again, he said sips of water then fruit juice & then dry toast as I got better! I think I'd risk the ice cream though ;D

I would think fruit juice could be a bit on the acid side Sue. She gave me the reason for the ice-cream, but I was not taking it in really.

I am just going easy at present and eating sensibly. I looked terrible for a while after I was sick and I want to get some condition on, like I say about my dogs. I am just about ready to go properly back on the diet.
Steve and Lesley, 2lbs off or 1/2lb on would not have made a difference to my appearance at the beginning of the month because I was getting fat.
