I echo that - well done! My GP wanted me to get down to 9 stone. I haven't got there, but I've lost 18lbs altogether since I started cutting down last October, and I can fit into some clothes I haven't worn for years! I'm glad I kept them, because I won't have to buy a new set... There are some that I really will never be able to fit into, so I'm thinking about getting rid of them. Have you got several sizes tucked away too, Cherry?

Yes Geranium. I had a rummage in the attic and found some best clothes that make me look quite well dressed. I am now really sorry that I got rid of so many.
I don't eat puddings any more which my husband likes every night, the weight is maintained or even still dropping. My sense of taste is keener and I just don't want sweet things. I still eat ice-cream, but not so much, and would love a chocolate occasionally, but there are none in the house. I think giving up butter, cream and cakes was the key, and I now think that everyone is different. Could it be psychological? I always felt that I put on weight with dairy foods. I did not follow a diet.

Well done Cherry, you sound as though you've been very determined & motivated to lose all that weight. I think you're right in that different things work for different people, look at all the 'new' diets which come out, one will say cut out carbs, the next will say cut out fats etc.

At least you look good in your clothes Esther. I still think I'm fat, so nearly everything is too big for me.

Now you've got to try to 'think thin', Cherry! Do you want/need to lose any more?

It is strange Geranium, but at the harvest yesterday I only had half a roll with my sausage and one macaroon slice and did not want any more. Obviously portion control comes into it. As I exercise by walking the dogs, etc., I seem to still be losing weight. If I was at home, none of these foods would have crossed my mind. I would eat half a sandwich and an apple. In other words, I don't want to lose more, but it is still happening. I have got used to smaller amounts and better food.

We've been eating off smaller plates for a while, now. It definitely helps - portion control, as you said. I'd like to lose another 2 or 3lbs, but I'd be too thin if I lost more than that.
