I think you're all aware that my garden open days are coming up fast. I'm on the count-down, and there are only 8 more days left before open day 1. It's time to make a list, and I'll get that written tonight. I do this every year, and it's a great help, even if more jobs get added as fast as I cross others off. This week I've been trimming the edges of all the lawns thoroughly, using an old knife to cut away encroaching grass from the edging bricks and stone paths. It might seem a bit early to cut the edges, but now they're all 'sharp' I'll be able to take the edging shears round in a couple of hours on open day minus 1, after OH has cut the lawns. Front garden - left. Front garden - right. The path to the gate...sorry it looks tipsy! Dianthus by the front gate.

Sorry you are so far away, but you are welcome to visit mine 'virtually'. ;D 'Virtual' cream teas don't taste like the real thing, though.

Looking fab, i am sure your visitors will enjoy exploring your garden. I hope some of your dahlias are in flower for you on the day, if they are you have done very well to get them there on time.

Thank you, Tel and Esther. It's your advice that has brought some of my Dahlias into flower, Tel! Pity about the dark one - 'Karma Choc' - that hasn't even got any buds yet! Never mind - I have six different ones with flowers. Can't be bad. Esther - it's hard work, isn't it - but worth doing. I wish you could come, too. I'm here wishing I could look at your beautiful garden too, but knowing it's too far away.

Afternoon all, I just thought I aught to pop my head through the door and say hi. I must say Geronimo your path has matured (Is that the right word?) beautifully. It looks like it's been there for ever now! Three weeks and counting the minutes until we get a chance to get a private tour of your little piece of Eden. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
