Visited Kenyon Hall farm shop yesterday & bought various tomato, mini cucumber & pak choi plants as I haven't managed to sow any seeds, just put them in the greenhouse & watered them for now.

I havn't bought any new plants, though I may be doing so in a couple of weeks. Neither my - nor my Sisters - chilli plants have germinated, so we may have to resort to buying some ready-started ones. I bough two 40L bags of compost from Liddle, attractively priced at £1.99 each. One of them split in my car boot, and dribbled all the way down my drive and onto my patio. To say nothing of all over my shirt and trousers. Fortunately, my new washing machine was able to clean them up

Yesterday I bought a Bergenia ciliata ‘Wilton’, It has hairy dinner plate size leaves and flowers above the new leaves in spring. Very handsome.
