My old one is later too, so we both have a longer season now. Lou has given it her seal of approval too.

That would be a novelty - growing Rhubarb in the middle of my new shrub border! ;D It would certainly be a talking point for visitors, wouldn't it.

Fun, though - they'd all be very puzzled! I went to our nearest Nursery this morning to get a Viburnum tinus variegatum. It was so cold that my eyes streamed as soon as I got out of the car, so one of the assistants kindly went to get it for me. I also picked up a Delphinium 'Black Knight' which looked like a healthy plant, but I won't plant that yet.

Don't they need a boggy area to grow in, or am I thinking of something else?

Don't they need a boggy area to grow in, or am I thinking of something else? No boggy areas in my garden Geranium, it was in a shady place and I watered it if we had a dry period and it grew well, but it formed a large root which was partly above soil level and I think when the ground was frozen solid for weeks that was what killed it. They are an impressive plant with huge leaves and unusual flowers

Did it feel strange being back? On the way back from Bristol we went into a GC up there and I bought a dark-leaved Azalea - I can't remember its name but it should have pink flowers - to go in my largest blue pot. I shall have to take all the heathers out, and start again. I think that's probably a good thing in case the previous planting, a Pieris, died because of vine weevil.

It does feel odd, and it's hard to believe it is 8 years since i left B&Q ;D
