I do the same grindle, I never remember where they are in the ground and usually slice through a few when I plant new ones.

I sent for some bulbs from Farmer Gracy - Tulip Lady Jane ( I believe they naturalise easily so I'm hoping they'll enjoy my garden) Fritilaria meleagris (can't get enough of those !) and Allium azureum (lovely ice blue colour for my front garden) They have some beautiful bulbs, many now out of stock but there's next year (hopefully)

My seeds arrived from T&M yesterday I may sow some of the hardier ones soon and see how they do over winter.
I had a peep at that website grindle - looks interesting. I wonder if I'll be able to resist sending for some bulbs ? I haven't planted any of the ones I've got yet. Oh I love it when my seeds arrive Eli . Did the packets pictures on them Eli ? Most of mine come in packets with no picture which I don`t like because I then have to read the info every time to see what they are. T&m have free postage this weekend.... just saying.....

Some of them had photos and some didn't ladybird . I agree it's a bit of a nuisance when you can't see at a glance what's in the pack, but the names were on them.
Pity I didn't wait until this week to order them

Narcissus New Baby Tulip Princess Irene Tulip Cummins Tulip Polychroma Tulip sylvestris Dutch Iris Red Ember these are the ones I bought would you lift and replant your tulips grindle ? I just leave them but they don`t seem to do well on subsequent years, which is why i don`t really like them . Monty Don buys new ones every year , it must cost him a fortune or do you think he gets freebees ? would you lift

much the same here ladybird they seem to mostly be annuals for me, I find the species ones are better for coming back each year, but like Eli I do buy them each year, usually when they've been discounted, as I love seeing them

Same here, I leave the small species ones in the ground but I put the large showy tulips in pots & dot them around the garden. I put them behind the greenhouse after they've finished flowering & leave them, some of them do come back the following year if you put them in new compost but they often don't do as well.
